NO FEAR - NO SHAME - NO GUILT
NO SHAME - NO GUILT - NO FEAR is a personal story about living with OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder), how it impacts someone's life, how it becomes an everyday reality, and how one simultaneously wants to deny and ignore it. As a designer, I've been fascinated by performance art my whole life. In this project, I aim to bring together my passion for textiles and costumes with my love for movement, word, and dance. The foundation is a collection of wearable art inspired by and based on texts, compulsions, or thoughts, associations in art, personal experiences... with OCD. Experiences with compulsions not only inspire the costumes but also the movements in the dance/performance. Thus, the performance becomes a visual representation of OCD but also an expression of the healing power of art.

This first performance in a series of works around this theme consists of a banner with a quote expressing the struggle with OCD, which is live transformed into a statement piece for the audience, a call for freedom in thought and action. The headpieces in 3D print are conceived as ordinary LED sign advertisements, which here sell nothing more or less than a message of freedom. Freedom of thought, freedom of action, free from fear, guilt, and shame.
